Scarlett Johansson’s reason for accepting the role in her recent flick The Spirit was because she was keen to work with director Frank miller.

The actress plays the role of Silken Floss a scientist in the movie.

She tells, “I’m not really a comic book fan. The world always just felt so excluding to me. What brought me to this project, was Frank. I loved Sin City, and I loved 300. And I just thought, ‘he must be a pretty interesting fellow!’

“So I got the script, but there really wasn’t any part for me. You know, the Silken Floss character was kind of underwritten.

“But I so wanted to meet Frank. So we met, and we had a really wonderful three hour lunch meeting. And just talked about New York, and laughed, and had a great time. And at the end of it I was like, well I’m sad that there’s nothing for me to do. And he told me, ‘I’ll think of something!’

“So I got super super lucky, because he decided to expand this character. And that was really it for me. I felt like being part of his vision would just be fun, a fun world to play around in.”

The Spirit also stars Eva Mendes, Jaime King and Samuel L.Jackson.

Scarlett is quite happy that she managed to have a secret wedding with hubby Ryan Reynolds.

The Spirit actress wed actor Ryan in a secret ceremony in September and is happy that her marriage wasn’t under media’s glare.

She says, “It was my mission to have a moment of privacy, to do something for myself. I was happy with the results of that.”

Scarlett apparently spent her whole summer planning her wedding.

Scarlett Johansson who is known more for her face than for her talent, hopes that she might get good roles in future when she crosses the 30 age mark.

She says, “I look forward to growing in the industry and ageing in the industry. A lot of actresses take their meatiest roles in their thirties and forties. And I”m looking forward to that.”

She adds, “I’m at a little bit of a funny age where I get that ‘’sexiest woman” thing, and it feels like a label for right now. But maybe when I get older, it won”t be like that.”

Scarlett’s new flick ‘The Spirit’ hits the theaters on Jan 1.

A source reveals, “Scarlett and Ryan are taking it slow because Ryan is busy working on Obama’s campaign. Scarlett, who also supports Obama, wants to hold off until the election is over because Hunter is so busy.”

Hollywood hottie Scarlett Johansson insists that she will never be a part of an open relationship as it would be “awful”.

The ‘Lost in Translation’ star, who is engaged to actor Ryan Reynolds revealed that she has always been monogamous relationships.

She said, “I believe in finding a soul mate. I’ve always been in monogamous relationships. I would never want to be in an open one. It would be too awful.”

But the actress insists that being with one person for a long time can be a bit difficult, adding,  “I don’t think monogamy is a natural instinct for human beings.

“Monogamy can be hard work for some people. I don’t think it applies to everybody, and I don’t think a lot of people can do it.”

Johansson also described love as a learning process.

She added, “You don’t always meet the right person at the right time. It’s important for people to figure out their own lives before involving someone else - to gauge where you are and work on your own issues.”

Well Ryan Reynolds must be heaving a sigh of relief after reading this.
